cuts
By Nathan Ahle, The Daily Independent
The athletic program at Cerro Coso Community College could be in its
last days, according to reports coming out of the college Friday.
Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach Dick Adams learned in a
meeting with Cerro Coso President Dr. Sharon Dyer that she was
recommending to the Kern Community College District Board of Trustees
that the athletic department, which is comprised of five intercollegiate
sports, be eliminated, saving the college an estimated $321,000 -- the
department's operating budget.
