Local summer league team opens season Saturday at Cerro Coso

The Ridgecrest Desert Dawgs, a summer-league team led by Dick Adams,
will begin its 2004 season this weekend with doubleheaders Saturday and
Sunday at Cerro Coso College.
The Dawgs will play 16 games this season, and will compete for the first
time in the Connie Mack League, a group of traveling youth teams.
Arvin will come to town for Saturday's doubleheader beginning at 11
a.m., with a team from Bakersfield playing the Dawgs Sunday at 11 a.m.
