Cerro Coso improves to 2-1 in Foothill with sweep of Desert Saturday
in Palm Desert

Norm Love and the Cerro Coso Coyotes gained two games in the Foothill
Conference standings Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of the College
of the Desert Roadrunners at Palm Desert. In the seven-inning opening
game, Aaron Keplinger took the mound and the Coyotes won the game 4-3.
Sophomore left-hander Matt Smith pitched the nine-inning nightcap, with
the Dawgs winning 7-3. Now 2-1 in conference play, the Coyotes will
travel to Barstow to take on the Barstow College Vikings Thursday,
before hosting the Vikings in a noon doubleheader Saturday.
