Team to return home to face El Camino Tuesday at CCCC
The Cerro Coso Coyotes baseball team dropped a trio of games this week
at the Pacific Coast Tournament in San Marcos.
The Coyotes began tournament play with a 10-0 loss to Mt. San Antonio
College Thursday. Jessie Zuber pitched “well” for six innings in the
estimation of Coyotes Head Coach Dick Adams, but suffered the loss to
fall to 1-2 on the season.
Friday, the Dawgs sent Brett Cobbley to the hill against Palomar
College, losing 5-1 to the host Comets. Cobbley fell to 0-3 on the
season.
Cerro Coso and Palomar were tied 1-1 in the third inning on a Cam White
solo home run.
The Coyotes also faced L.A. Pierce College Friday, and suffered an 8-0
shutout loss.
Colby Ingram (1-2) pitched for the Coyotes.
“We just started slowly and never recovered,” said Adams.
The Coyotes have now suffered four straight losses, and fall to 4-8 on
the season.
Cerro Coso will host El Camino College at the Dawg Yard Tuesday at 2
p.m., and will host Golden West in weekend action Feb. 23 and 24.
The Coyotes will begin Foothill Conference play against the Barstow
College Vikings Mar. 3 at Cerro Coso.
