Cerro Coso’s annual Mashin’ in the Mojave returns today with three teams
converging on Ridgecrest.
Pasadena, Oxnard and West Hills colleges will all see action with the
Coyotes at the Dawg Yard in the three-day round robin tournament.
Cerro Coso will play a double header today starting at two when the team
takes on Oxnard starting at 2 p.m. in a rain-make up from a tournament
that was rained out in January.
The Coyotes will then take on Pasadena at 6 p.m.
Wednesday will be the big day for the tournament, with three game
scheduled starting at 10 a.m. when Pasadena takes on West Hills.
Pasadena will immediately retake the field to face West Hills in the
second game.
Cerro Coso will play the night cap taking on Oxnard.
Thursday will see West Hills play a double header starting at 10 a.m.
when it faces Oxnard.
West Hills will then take on the Coyotes starting at 2 p.m.
Colby Ingram will get the nod against Oxnard today followed by Clint
Williamson to take the hill against Pasadena.
Coach Dick Adams said he is going to wait and see who will get the
starts in the remaining games wanting to see how the team is playing and
how the other games shake out.
Adams said he is hoping to see his boys pick up a couple of wins to try
to improve their 10-18 record (4-8 in Foothill Conference).
He said he expects the tournament to be a fun series.
“It’s nice to have it going again,” Adams said. “It’s nice playing in a
home tournament.”
Cerro Coso games can be heard on 1360 AM KWDJ.
