By Kyle Kensing, Sports Editor, The Daily Independent
The Jan. 6 edition of “Collegiate Baseball” named Cerro Coso outfielder
Paul Saville to its preseason All-American roster.
The California Community College Baseball Coaches Association complied
the list, which recognized Saville's lofty accomplishments in 2005.
The sophomore, who saw time behind the plate as a left fielder, batted
.376 on the year and earned Foothill All-Conference honors for a Cerro
Coso squad that went 17-21.
Saville also boasted a .420 on-base percentage and .528 slugging
percentage in 127 at-bats.
“Paul works hard and deserves every honor that comes his way,” said
Cerro Coso head coach Dick Adams. “We are very pleased with his team
efforts at Cerro Coso.”
Aside from his play on the field, Saville has excelled in the classroom,
with a cumulative 3.95 grade point average at Cerro Coso.
Saville and Co. take to the field for the first time in 2006 Jan. 27 in
Ventura.
