Cerro Coso's Jake Orr signs on with Colorado State University-Pueblo
Cerro Coso catcher Jake Orr signed on to play with Colorado State
University at Pueblo on Wednesday, continuing a long line of Coyotes who
have moved on to play for the school.
Orr becomes the 18th player in 17 years to move on to Pueblo, formally
Southern Colorado University. That outpaces the next two closest schools
— St. Mary’s and Nevada — who each had eight.
“It’s the greatest opportunity I’ve had so far,” Orr said. “(Cerro Coso)
really helped to to where I’ll be going next year and I’m pretty excited
about it.”

Salas deals but can’t prevent Chaffey doubleheader sweep
There was little more Cerro Coso coach Dick Adams could ask from his
freshman starter, Nick Salas in game two against Chaffey.
The hurler kept his Coyotes in the game against Foothill Conference
power Chaffey, but ultimately it wasn’t enough.
Cerro Coso lost both games of the doubleheader at Chaffey on Saturday,
dropping Salas’ game 5-4 in 10 innings after losing game one, 9-1.
