Assistant Coach, Billy Montgomery

Billy Montgomery begins his first year as an assistant coach for
Cerro Coso Community College. He comes from Klamath Falls, Oregon
where he was a 1997 graduate of Henley High School and a two time
All-State selection. He finished his senior season as the Class 3A
Oregon Player of the Year. Billy began his collegiate career at
Cerro Coso as an outfielder in 1998. As a freshman he gained 2nd
Team All Foothill Conference honors and helped lead the team to a 2nd
place finish with a 28-12 record. Billy transferred to San Diego
State University as a sophomore where he played two seasons, and was
awarded All Mountain West Conference honors as a junior. Billy
left SDSU after his junior season as he was drafted in the 10th round of
the Amateur Baseball Draft by the Texas Rangers. After 2 season in
the Minor leagues Billy began his coaching career at Western Oregon
University where he was an assistant and coached the outfielders and
hitters. In his three years at WOU the team compiled a 106 and 55
record.
Billy will carry the responsibility of coaching outfielders, base
running, and assist with the hitters this year for the Coyotes.
