Coyotes fall short in San Diego
The Cerro Coso Women’s baseball team dropped a 49-43 decision to San
Diego City College on Saturday in San Diego.
The Coyotes trailed 24-17 at the half and rallied to take several leads
in the second.
The game was tied at 39 with five minutes to go in the game before City
was able to hit several big shots down the stretch. The second half saw
the game tied seven times, and the out-manned Coyotes with seven
players, finally wore down in the final moments.

Lady Coyotes struggle offensively in loss to Taft
Despite holding Taft to 47 points on Saturday, Cerro Coso couldn’t do
any better.
The Lady Coyotes put up just 14-first half points en route to a 47-31
home loss.
Cerro Coso struggled early, forcing the team to adjust its came plan in
the second half. The Coyotes started running a half-court trap that
forced Taft to commit several turnovers, but the anemic offense still
persisted.

Defensive stand not enough for Cerro Coso in loss to San Diego City
Trailing by seven at the half, the Cerro Coso women’s basketball team
did almost exactly what it needed to do to get back in the game against
San Diego City on Saturday.
For 10 minutes into the second half, the Coyote defense shut down San
Diego, allowing just six points.
But for the same period, the Coyotes put up just 10 en route to 17 for
the entire second frame.
The lack of scoring led to a 60-47 loss in Cerro Coso’s home opener.

More than 60 turn out for Cerro Coso
The Annual Cerro Coso summer basketball camp is in full swing this
week, with more than 60 boys and girls participating in the week-long
camp.

Players from across the High Desert and beyond came together Saturday
to take part in the Cerro Coso Summer Tournament.
Nine teams turned out for the two-day affair, starting with practice
rounds on Friday and continuing through Saturday morning.
Two of the teams joined forces to even out the bracket. Teams included
squads from Burroughs, Barstow, Rosamond, Littlerock High School and
Beatty High School.

Burroughs frosh team helps kick off Cerro Coso summer tourney
The Cerro Coso summer tournament got started on Friday, with a game
between the Burroughs freshmen team and Big Pine. There were four games
played on Friday, including two by the Burros.
