"We played fairly well, our defense kept us in the game"

The Coyotes trailed 24-17 at the half and rallied to take several leads in the second.

"We have to play a near perfect game for us to win a game."

Lady Coyotes struggle offensively in loss to Taft

Despite holding Taft to 47 points on Saturday, Cerro Coso couldn’t do any better.

The Lady Coyotes put up just 14-first half points en route to a 47-31 home loss.

Cerro Coso struggled early, forcing the team to adjust its came plan in the second half. The Coyotes started running a half-court trap that forced Taft to commit several turnovers, but the anemic offense still persisted.

"We just didn’t score..."

Defensive stand not enough for Cerro Coso in loss to San Diego City

Trailing by seven at the half, the Cerro Coso women’s basketball team did almost exactly what it needed to do to get back in the game against San Diego City on Saturday.

For 10 minutes into the second half, the Coyote defense shut down San Diego, allowing just six points.

But for the same period, the Coyotes put up just 10 en route to 17 for the entire second frame.

The lack of scoring led to a 60-47 loss in Cerro Coso’s home opener.
