Lady Coyotes continue to slide

By Nathan Ahle, The Daily Independent

"We did a nice job in our presses after we scored, but we just couldn't score enough."

The Cerro Coso Coyotes dropped their 10th straight game Monday night, losing 49-43 at home to the Mt. San Jacinto College Eagles.

According to Head Coach Tom Heck, the Coyotes "struggled against 40 minutes of zone" played by Mt. San Jacinto. The Coyotes connected on only 12 of 65 shots from the field.

"You can either shoot or you can't, and lately we just severely struggle shooting the ball.

San Jacinto did a good job in the zone but many of our misses were open looks," Heck continued. "We did a nice job in our presses after we scored, but we just couldn't score enough."

Cetra Banks had a career night, scoring 19 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

"Banks did a great job tonight, but she can't do it by herself on the boards," said Heck.

Fernanda Yazzie added 15 points. The 6-17 Coyotes close out their season Saturday at Chaffey College.
