The Cerro Coso Lady Coyotes basketball team improved to a perfect 2-0
Saturday night, defeating L.A. Harbor College 103-44 in San Pedro.
The Coyotes led all the way, and jumped out to a 64-13 lead at halftime.
The team shot at a 44 percent clip from the field, creating 18 steals.
Dar’Shelle Lynch led the team in scoring with 25 points and eight
steals, with Paris Allen adding 20 points and 12 rebounds.
“Lynch is proving to be quite a scorer,” said Coyotes Head Coach Tom
Heck.
Former Burroughs player Ebonee Moses added 15 points, with Angel Lash
(14 points), and Mariah Bomberry (13 points), also scoring in double
digits.
Stephanie Hart added eight points before leaving with an ankle injury in
the second half.
“We had a good day of balanced scoring and we defended well,” said Heck.
On Friday, Cerro Coso will travel to the L.A. Pierce Tournament to face
Citrus College, one of the top eight teams in California last year.
“We need to get healthy and find more chemistry,” said Heck. “There
hasn’t been one day so far this year where we’ve had everyone
available.”
The Coyotes will not play a home game until after the new year.
