The Cerro Coso women's basketball team earned a 94-53 win against the
College of the Desert on Wednesday at the McCue Center.
The game was tied at 24 with eight minutes remaining in the first half
before the Coyotes went on a 14-2 run to take a lead at the
intermission.
The Coyotes continued how they left off to start the second half by
going on a 22-4 and lever looked back.
With the game tied early, Coso switched from a man defense to a 3-2
zone, which Tom Heck said really helped.
“We did a great job in our match up finding and closing out on their
shooters,” Heck said. “We did a good job of getting up and down the
floor tonight with some good execution.”
Dar'Shelle Lynch led the Coyotes in scoring with 26 points.
Ashley Logan had 19 points and nine rebounds. Angel Lash had 15 points
and Brittany Graybill added 11.
Kaylina Abeyta had a season high 11 assists and scored eight points.
The Coyotes are now 2-3 in Foothill Conference play and 14-6 overall.
The team will host Victor Valley College on Saturday at 6 p.m.
