Lady Coyotes drop home opener of softball season against Cerritos

The Cerro Coso Lady Coyotes fastpitch softball team opened its 2003
home season Friday afternoon with a matchup against Cerritos College. It
was the first appearance of the Coyotes at home under new head coach
Mark Lathrop, and the team took the field at the Coyote Den under fine
weather conditions.
The good feeling would not last long, however, as the visitors from
Cerritos jumped out in front early and defeated the Lady Coyotes 17-2 in
five innings.
