Lady Coyotes fall to Roadrunners, 20-0
By Nathan Ahle, The Daily Independent
The Cerro Coso Lady Coyotes softball team hosted its first Foothill
Conference game of the new season Wednesday afternoon at the Coyote Den
against the College of the Desert Roadrunners. With the end of the
women's basketball season, the softball team picked up two new players
in Emma James and Michelle Wiggins, but the new additions were unable to
help stop the Roadrunners, who won 20-0 in a game that was called after
five innings.
Desert jumped out on top early, with five runs in the first inning and
two in the second against Coyote starter Natalie Noel. Noel reached base
in the bottom half of the inning and advanced to third on an error, but
Roadrunner pitching shut the Coyotes down.
